What You’ll Do

The Lifecycle of a Quant Project

As a Quantitative Researcher at SIG, your journey begins with a single idea. This idea could come from various sources: your own insights, guidance from a mentor, or even a casual conversation in the cafeteria. Here’s a snapshot of the quant project lifecycle:

  1. Idea Generation: Engage with market data using advanced tools in mathematics, statistics, and programming to explore the idea.

  2. Pattern Discovery: Through thorough research, identify patterns that could evolve into actionable trading signals.

  3. Collaboration: Work closely with technologists to backtest and refine these signals, integrating them into our trading strategies.

  4. Strategy Optimization: Continuously research and enhance the performance of the strategy once the signal is in production.

  5. Feedback Loop: Collaborate with fellow researchers, strategists, and traders to gather feedback and brainstorm new ideas. This often leads to new projects, restarting the lifecycle.

Our comprehensive orientation program will help you transition smoothly from academia to industry, covering key topics like options pricing, proprietary data sets, and data analysis techniques. Beyond orientation, our trading floor offers endless opportunities for discussion and growth.
