About the Role

As a Visual UI Designer at Canonical, you’ll be crucial in crafting clear and stylish designs that elevate the Ubuntu and Canonical brands across a variety of channels. Your role will be central to our mission of making enterprise-grade open-source software and services accessible to people everywhere. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of visual designers, UX experts, and engineers, and your work will influence everything from digital and social assets to brand experiences at events and in our offices.


What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Collaborative Design: Work within a dynamic design team to create visually compelling projects that support and enhance our software.

  • Creative Excellence: Apply your expertise in typography, color, and layout to deliver designs that are both stylish and functional.

  • Innovative Solutions: Engage with the latest design trends and tools to bring fresh perspectives and creative solutions to our design challenges.

  • Continuous Learning: Participate in a culture of constant improvement and learning, supported by a team that values knowledge-sharing and growth.


What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Academic Background: Excellent academic results with a Bachelor’s or equivalent in Art/Design.

  • Design Expertise: Proven talent in visual design, particularly in branding and creating visual identities.

  • Passion for UX and Technology: A deep interest in user experience, technology, and design.

  • Adaptability and Curiosity: A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with design research and innovations.

  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with design tools such as InDesign, Illustrator, Figma, or Penpot.
